Hello, I'm Deanne

I'm a Tłı̨chǫ and Yellowknives Dene writer from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Currently making a home on Vancouver Island.

I write about people, place, and the stories we carry. My work moves between journalism, creative nonfiction, photography, and the land. I'm curious about people. What we feel, what we carry, and how we find connection through it all. I love stories that make us feel something, ask more questions, or see a little of ourselves in someone else.

When I'm not writing, you can usually find me behind a camera, crouched beside an Amanita mushroom, or wandering through an old-growth forest in search of giants.
